Dorli

Dorli is a subgroup of Gond, the largest and the most important group of original Indian tribes. The community is divided into groups or gattas. Each gattas consists of many clans, the families claiming a common ancestor. Dorlis live in small, windowless huts made with mud walls and thatched roofs. Dorli belongs to the Dravidian language group. It is a dialect of Koya. Dorli tribes are settled in Bijaipur of Madhya Pradesh, and a majority of these tribes are also seen in a number of villages in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Agriculture is the primary source of income for them.
