Gangte (ISO 639-3 code: gnb)
Gangte is a non-scheduled Indian language. It belongs to a Tibeto-Burman sub-family of Sino-Tibetan language family. The Gangte community is a major Kuki-Chin tribe of Manipur, found in Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Senapati (Sadar Hills areas) districts. Their main population is concentrated in the Churachandpur district. They are also inhabited in the adjacent areas of Mizoram, Assam and a few speakers across the border in Myanmar (Burma). The total number of Gangte speakers is 17,178 as per the 2011 Census of India. Gangte's codes for the indentifying language is ISO 639-3: gnb and Glottocode: gang1266 respectively.
