Abstract

Description

This is a performance of the traditional song that accompanies the traditional dance 'Mara kudiya nritham'. While actually performing, the performer sings and then dances and then sings again. The song is a hunting song, seeking the blessing and permission of the 'bhootha', gods. In a week, four days, the bhoothas hunt and the people hunt the remaining three days. The informant also talks about the weapons and traps used and show some of them to the Resourse Persons.
