Kokborok/ Kokbarak belongs to the Boro-Garo branch under Sino-Tibetan languages. The indigenous communities are the Tripuri people of the Indian state of Tripura. It is also spoken by a fairly large population in other Indian states such as Assam, Mizoram, and in neighbouring areas of Bangladesh and the country of Myanmar (Burma). The population is estimated around 9,17,900 as per 2011 Census. Kokborok, as an official language of the state of Tripura, India.
