Chothe (Ethnologue ISO 639-3: nct)

Chothe language is the member of Tibeto-Burman language family spoken by the Chothe tribe in the hills and around the valley of Manipur. The Chothe tribe is commonly found in the state of Manipur, India. Chothe is a tonal language. As per the Ethnologue, the tribe mainly inhabit Chandel district and Bishnupur districts of Manipur. They use Manipuri (Meiteilon) as a lingua-franca in their daily communication with outsiders.
