Spiti is a language of the Sino-Tibetan family mainly spoken in mountain valley of Himalayas in the Lahul and Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh, India. The name ‘Spiti’ means ‘The middle land’. According to the Census of India-2001, Spitian population is 11,000.
