Abstract

ಈ ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಮಗಳು ಕಾಲ, ದೇಶ, ಭಾಷೆ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧಿಕ ಕುರುಹುಗಳು ಹಲವು ನೆಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುವುಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ನಾಮಗಳು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಆಕರಗಳು. ಆರಂಭದಿಂದ ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದವರೆಗಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಸನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿನಾಮಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ಈ ಕೃತಿ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. Nouns in this work are typical traces of time, country, language, and ethnicity. The work includes the study of personal names used in Kannada inscriptions from the beginning to the tenth century.
