Abstract
The Udayadityalankaram (A Compendium on Poetry Dedicated to King Udayaditya) is a peculiar text due to its planners. Consisting of only seventy-six verses and composed in the Kannada language ostensibly during the early thirteenth century, this text offers a highly condensed but complete manual for the composition of literature according to the conventions of Sanskrit poetics.
