| Description | About 6000 Tamil words, semantically classified under 51 headings, have been listed for this Saurashtri (spelt 'Sourashtri' in Tamilnadu) lexical collection. The classification covers a wide range of subjects like politics, law and order, land types, edibles, utensils, kinships, religion, literature, grammar, music, sports, trade and commerce, and so on. While dealing with the vocabulary under each domain, the experts’ panel has taken the utmost care to encode the meanings of the original (Tamil) words into Saurashtri. The Saurashtri equivalents of the keywords have been embedded in three scripts, viz. Tamil, Devanagari and Saurashtri. |
